Hurricane Brake Pressure Reduction 10 PSI

Hurricane Brake pressure valve helps you get a faster braking action and a more stable brake pressure.

If you have problems with the car having a spongy brake pedal even though it is ventilated, it may be because the space between the brake disc and the pad becomes too large after the pressure on the pedal is released.

This brake pressure valve maintains a low pressure so that the brake caliper/brake caliper does not release as much, which means that the next time you press the brake pedal, the distance between the brake pad and disc is smaller than usual.

This valve fits most hydraulic brakes and is popular for drum brakes, hydraulic hand brakes and even disc brakes.

Specifications:
Locking Pressure: 10 PSI / 10 lb
Thread to valve: 1/8" -27 NPT
Threaded brass connections: 3/8" -24
Length: 40.5mm
Length with Brass Adapters: 60mm~
Material: Anodized Aluminum

A residual pressure valve is a special type of one-way check valve. It keeps a small amount of pressure in the brake lines, which helps the brakes engage more quickly and reduces pedal travel.

There are two basic types of residual valves: 10-psi and 2-psi. In the aftermarket, 10-psi valves are usually red and 2-psi valves are usually blue, but other colours are available.

The valves should be located on or near the Master Cylinder. In OEM applications, the residual pressure valve is usually built into the master cylinder and in this case, an external valve is not required.

A 10-psi Residual Valve holds 10 psi in the brake lines going to the wheel cylinders when drum brakes are used. This keeps pressure against the return springs inside the drum and allows the brakes to engage faster with less pedal travel.

Most disc brake systems do not require a residual valve, but a 2-psi Residual Valve is used when the master cylinder is lower than the calipers to prevent fluid back-flow.
When the master cylinder is relocated to a lower position, a residual valve is required to prevent fluid back-flow, avoiding a “spongy” pedal feel and excessive pedal travel.

NOTE When converting from drum to disc brakes, remove the 10-psi valve to prevent constant line pressure, which causes brakes to drag, leading to overheating and premature wear.
